This is a Pre-Level 1 (meaning below kindergarten). This is the first book my daughter learned to read completely by herself. Very simple sentences and words that she can sound out. As a 5 year-old, she quickly knew this one by heart. When I knew she wasn't even "reading" the words anymore, we went to the Level 1 books where she actually has to look at the letters and words to comprehend them.
